Dr. Astrid Sánchez Jiménez is a biologist and researcher of marine social-ecological systems. She combines quantitative and qualitative methods from the social and natural sciences to understand the links between ecological and socioeconomic components of coastal marine areas.

Affiliations: Center for Research in Marine Sciences and Limnology (CIMAR), University of Costa Rica, and Faculty of Geography, University of Costa Rica.
